We commence this term, with lots of learning preparing Year 6 for their KS2 SATS, starting on the 9th May 2022. Below is a list of the individual assessment dates:

In our other learning, in Term 5 we will be reading "Westalandia", by Paul Fleischman and "Shackleton's Journey" by William Grill. Using our Thematic Learning Drivers, we have linked lots of our learning around these fantastic books. In English, we will be writing a narrative and a recount.
In Term 6, we will read "Wallace and Grommit's Cracking Contraptions" and write an explanation text. We will also read "Ripley's Mighty Machines," by Robert L Ripley and write a non chronological report.
Our units in maths will be following the White Rose scheme and we will continue to recap Y5 objectives in each topic. After we have completed the Geometry Unit for the summer term, we will be consolidating prior learning and have themed projects.
In science, we will be learning about "Inheritance and Adaptation" and "Electricity". Do you already have any prior knowledge on this topic? What amazing facts can you find out?
Have a look at our Summer Topic Web, to see what we will be completing in other subjects.
Our PE days, are on a Monday (Indoor PE) and Friday (Outdoor PE). Home learning and spellings will be set on a Friday and collected and tested the following week.
