Spring Term 1
Our themes this term are Transport and Space. We will be naming and talking about different transport and whether it is used in the air, on land or in the water. We will also be looking at transport OLD and NEW. Our weekly books link to our theme and the books that we will be reading are:

The children will continue to develop their literacy skills by revisiting oral blending and segmenting, rhyme and rhythm and alliteration.
In mathematics the children will be learning about 2d shapes, more and less, height and length and weight.
The weekly newsletters will provide you with information on what your child has been learning that week and any important information for the following week.

Autumn Term 2
This term we will be covering the following themes:
Traditional Tales and Fairy Tales
In literacy the children will be learning about rhythm and rhyme, alliteration, voice sounds, oral blending and segmenting.
In mathematics the children will be learning the concepts of size, positional language, directions and measure.
Autumn Term 1
this term our theme is "Marvelous Me" where we will be learning about ourselves. We will be looking at our similarities and differences to each other and also what makes us special.
The children will begin their literacy journey with learning about the importance of listening. Using their ears to listen to the sounds around them and exploring how different sounds can be made.
In mathematics we will be concentrating on numbers and counting to 10. We will do this by singing lots of different counting songs. For example, 1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive. During this time children will develop skills in 1:1 counting, counting objects that can and can't be moved.
