Summer Term 2019
The Summer term! Here we are in the final term of the academic year. SATs are looming for Year 6 (Wb 13th May 2019). Please come and see any of the Year 6 team for questions regarding the SATs.
Interventions (Only one remaining on 29th May due to Non Pupil Day and Bank Holiday)
Monday morning maths interventions from 8:30 am for those children invited to attend. Children will have the opportunity for magic breakfast when we return to class at roughly 9 am.
Topics for the Term:
English- We will focus on Mexico after SATs and complete some writing based upon our "Spellathon".
Maths-We continue to work towards SATs and we will use our "Spellathon" to calculate costings for various events.
Science-Our topic is "Classification". We will learn about classification of species, the 5 Kingdoms of life and how to classify sweets!
Computing- We will be focusing on keeping ourselves safe when on the internet and online media through e-safety. We will start our coding unit.
RE- Beliefs in action in the World. In this unit pupils gain a knowledge and understanding about Christian and Jewish teachings on behaviour and action. They develop their own understanding that Christians and Jews base their behaviour on key religious teachings. Through exploring this pupils will develop their understanding that beliefs affect action and behaviour.
Music- We will follow the Charanga scheme of work and we will learn songs and use the glockenspiel to play along to the music.
PE- This term we have Eoghan from Eolas+ who will be teaching use key rugby skills on a Thursday. We will be outside on a Tuesday afternoon as raiders has now finished. Please ensure PE kits stay in school.
Please ensure that children are wearing school shoes to school and not trainers.
