SUMMER TERM

 

Our topic this term is Mexico. We will be integrating our topic work into all areas of the curriculum.   

 

 

RE/Art Week:  WB 18.6.18

Children will be making a collage of their favourite things, memories, family, pets, favourite foods. Please could children bring in pictures of anything that is important/relevant to them that they can use on their birth to current day collage. We can photocopy any baby pictures and return the originals. Please ensure they are labeled with their names. Cut out pictures from magazines, newspapers, leaflets and flyers are also fine.

 

English- We will be revising a lot of topics this term in preparation for our SPAG and reading SATs. Our "Spellathon" in April will support our learning of the year 5 and 6 National Curriculum Words.

 

Maths-We will continue our topics in maths, starting with geometry, We will look at angles, how to calculate missing angles, angles in a triangle and angles in regular quadrilaterals. We will include reasoning questions in all maths sessions and arithmetic will be revised every day.

 

Science-Our topic is "Evolution and Inheritance". We will use our maths statistics topic to support our learning.

 

Computing- We will be focusing on keeping ourselves safe when on the internet and online media through e-safety. We will start our coding unit.

 

RE- We will continue to learn about Judaism and Christianity.

 

Music- We will learning how to play the recorder and glockenspiel whilst singing to a range of songs.

 

PE- Indoor PE will now continue on a Monday, after our time with the Albion rugby coaches.  Our Tuesday session will be basketball with Plymouth Raiders. Please can you ensure you have appropriate kit in school on these days which is a white t-shirt (round neck) or a blue polo shirt, dark shorts and trainers or plimsolls.  

 

Please ensure that children are wearing school shoes to school and not trainers.

 

 

   

SAT's - WB 14th May 2018.  We look forward to seeing all Y6 children at 8.30am in the reception foyer on Monday to Thursday and joining them in the hall for a bacon bagel. Good luck Y6! You have worked really hard. Mrs Booth, Mrs Jenkinson and Mrs Smith.
