Our topic of World War 2 will continue for the Spring term. We will be integrating our topic work into all areas of the curriculum. Maths revision groups will start on Monday and Wednesday mornings (for those invited) from 8.30-9am.
English- We will be writing for a range of purposes such as newspaper reports, poetry and narrative writing. We will be focusing on working towards our targets in reading and writing
Maths-We will concentrating on consolidating the four operations as well as problem solving, looking for patterns, shape and measure. We will look at position and direction especially plotting co-ordinates in all four quadrants.
Science-Our topic is electricity and we will be exploring how things work and move using electrical currents.
Computing- We will be focusing on keeping ourselves safe when on the internet and online media through e-safety. We will start our coding unit.
RE- We will continue to learn about Judaism and Christianity.
Music- We will learning how to play the recorder and glockenspiel whilst singing to a range of songs.
PE- Indoor PE is now on a Monday. Our Tuesday session will continue to be basketball with Plymouth Raiders. Please can you ensure you have appropriate kit in school on these days which is a white t-shirt (round neck) or a blue polo shirt, dark shorts and trainers or plimsolls.
Please ensure that children are wearing school shoes to school and not trainers.

Homework and spellings will be sent home on a Friday and we would like it returned by the following Friday. Please continue to support your child in learning their spellings.
In the first week of term, Y6 completed a mock SAT. We will be inviting some pupils to attend a morning intervention group for maths tuition in order to help prepare for the upcoming SATs tests in May.
