For us at Victoria Road, sport and games are about:
Fairness, Respect, Confidence, Fitness, Character-building and Competitiveness are all important to us at Victoria Road. We have adopted the Spirit of the Games values which are: Self-belief, Teamwork, Determination, Honesty, Passion and Respect. These values are cross-curricular values of learning and are not just recognised in PE.
At Victoria Road we believe that PE plays an essential role in Children's development. We aim to have a fun and challenging PE Curriculum that engages all children. PE will encourage children to challenge themselves, work as a team and build positive attitudes towards sport and physical exercise in lessons and in extra-curricular clubs.
The Government has provided funding of £150 million per year to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being used to improve the quality of sport and PE for all children. Click below for the DfE link to the Primary School Sports Funding page.
